THE "WESTHILLS' COMMUNITIES:

“THE WESTHILLS” communities are situated in the WESTERN hills of Calgary. This particular westerly portion of Calgary was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1956, but did not start to develop until 1970. “The Westhills” consists of mixed residential developments including single family dwellings, townhouses and condominium apartments. “THE WESTHILLS” is located NORTH and SOUTH of Bow Trail, and WEST of Sarcee Trail. Excellent access to the downtown business community!

Elevations from these communities provide excellent VIEWS of the City of Calgary, THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS and the ELBOW and BOW RIVER valleys. The CFCN television/broadcasting facility is prominently located on what is now referred to as “Broadcast Hill.” Look up to the WEST, and you will find luxurious family home living, just 7-9 kilometres from the downtown business community of the City of Calgary.

The MOUNT ROYAL, LOWER MOUNT ROYAL, SCARBORO, UPPER SCARBORO, SUNALTA, CONNAUGHT, CLIFF BUNGALOW, ELBOW PARK, RIDEAU, ROXBORO, MISSION, PARKHILL,BANKVIEW, KNOB HILL, ERLTON, RAMSAY, BRIDGELAND, SUNNYSIDE, WEST HILLHURST, HILLHURST, PARKDALE, MAYFAIR, BRITTANIA AND MEADOWLARK PARK AND HAYSBORO, are only a few of the “INNER-CITY” COMMUNITIES that you may wish to call “HOME”.

Communities such as MOUNT ROYAL, LOWER MOUNT ROYAL, SCARBORO and UPPER SCARBORO was originally promoted by the Canadian Pacific Railway as exclusive “inner-city” neighbourhoods for Calgary’s citizens, who wished to the downtown core. Development of these communities commenced in 1904 through to 1914. Since then, many of the original homes have either been totally removed and rebuilt on its originally designed ‘restricted residential’ lots, or renovated to the satisfaction of today’s home owner.

The ‘INNER-CITY’ communities are homes of character, originality and exclusivity. If you want a ‘heritage’ style of home, you can probably find what you are looking for, in The Mount Royals or the Scarboros. If you want lesser land maintenance, than you can find your home in WEST HILLHURST, HILLHURST, SUNNYSIDE, BRIDGELAND, PARKDALE.
